ABOUT US

Thank you for visiting Steps4Kids.com where we strive to provide quality educational support and products to help in the development of all children.

Started in 2005 in Carlsbad, California, Steps4Kids, LLC is a collaborative LLC that creates products and programs to help parents, teachers and other educators support children in both the school and home settings.   Its founders include an occupational therapist, an education advocate and others who support children, both typically developing and those with special needs.

Our goal is to provide persons responsible for teaching children with positive, effective support tools so that children can be successful in handling their academic, social, behavioral and physical tasks.

Examples of products and programs developed by Steps4Kids include the award winning handwriting DVD Steps4Kids to Write Their ABCs, the Gift of Friendship program (inclusion program), customized Steps4Kids learning DVDs (to help children with spelling, reading and other academic and behavior skills) and other programs designed to strengthen children's skills and self confidence.

The primary focus of Steps4Kids, LLC is the design of DVDs which provide video modeling to teach and support children.   We also provide products to supplement the skills being demonstrated in the DVDs.

Steps4Kids, LLC welcomes the opportunity to support you and the children empowered by your interest and efforts.

Special Needs:

Lucile Hooton Lynch is the Executive Producer and one of the founders of Steps4Kids, LLC.  She is a parent of twin boys, one of whom has special needs.  Born at 15 ounces (24 week preemie), her son was diagnosed with having an Autism Spectrum Disorder, spastic quadraplasia cerebral palsy, and Apraxia of Speech.  After having children, Lynch (an attorney) committed herself to supporting families of children with special needs and in 2003 began volunteering as an education advocate to support families at IEPs and to train parents to become effective advocates on their own.  She additionally supports parents by training them on how to use existing home tools to more effectively support their children at home, especially in the area of DVD design and uses.  Lynch ensures that all projects produced by Steps4Kids, LLC incorporate components that can benefit those with special needs as well as those without.

Selected by her children's school district to serve as its parent representative to the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) for the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education "NCCSE" (a federally mandated special needs planning organization that supervises 14 school districts), Lynch later served as an executive board member on the CAC for NCCSE.  She additionally served on the local PTA Board and currently serves on the Encinitas Union School District's strategic planning committee (the "Futuring Committee") for its special needs programs. Lynch has been recognized by the local school district for both her legislative and planning efforts in the field of education.

In 2006, Lynch was honored from among nominations from 14 school districts with an award for "Excellence in Supporting Students with Special Needs and Their Families" by the CAC for NCCSE.  In 2007, she received a Congressional Order of Merit.   "I believe all children are capable of learning.  We as adults just sometimes need to learn how to teach them," says Lynch.

Lynch earned her B.A. from UCLA and her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
